This venue was constructed to stage the Aquatics and Basketball competitions for the Tokyo 1964 Games. The arena is famous for its suspension roof design, and has earned a glowing international reputation as an outstanding Olympic legacy venue. This stadium is adjacent to the beautiful green spaces of Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park, which also carries the same 1964 Olympic legacy.
